| Globe Tabloid: "Obama Was Not Born in U.S." |
Now Globe magazine has jumped into the citizenship controversy with a July 12 cover story that states, “Obama was not born in the U.S.” The supermarket tabloid may not have the best track record for accurate reporting among mainstream publications, but it does have a large circulation and its voice and what it has to say will undoubtedly bring the issue of Obama's citizenship to the attention of a lot more people and cause them to consider seriously if there is anything to it. The introduction of the article reads: A former Hawaii records official is sending shock waves through Washington, D.C., by revealing there is absolutely no birth certificate for Barack Obama! The bombshell revelation backs up long-standing claims that Obama — who insists he was born in a Honolulu hospital — really took his first breath in Kenya and, as a result, violates the U.S. Consitution’s requirements for the President to be a “natural born” American. The official, Timothy Adams, claims to have had access to Social Security records, drivers’ license, and passport information, and “just about anything you can imagine to get someone’s identity.” He reportedly confirmed that there exists no proof that President Obama was born in Honolulu. Adams alleges that upon his request for two different local hospitals to provide Obama’s birth certificate, he was told that no such record exists, defending his inquisition by asserting that it was part of his job requirements to “verify the voters’ identity and citizenship.” The Globe goes on to claim, “America’s current Commander-in-Chief, 48, has not only refused to produce his official birth certificate but has gone to great lengths — and expense — to seal records from his past, according to sources. He once mistakenly named two different hospitals where he was supposed to be born — and his paternal grandmother insists she witnessed his birth in Kenya!” In addition to the coverage of Adams’ shocking accusations, the Globe published an incriminating photograph of President Obama from 1987, where he appeared with his entire family in Kenya. The magazine reports: Coming on the heels of Adams’ charges, a damning photo of Obama in Kenya with relatives has surfaced. Snapped in 1987, some people believe it offers more proof that the President was born in his father’s African homeland. This is not the first time the Globe has reported on Obama’s eligibility concerns. In January 2009, the Globe indicated that a Kenyan birth certificate revealed that Obama was born at Mombassa’s Coast Provincial General Hospital at 7:24 p.m., where Obama’s grandmother claimed to be present at the time of Obama’s birth. Officials were unable to confirm the report, however. The White House has reacted to claims disputing Obama’s eligibility by producing a Hawaiin Certificate of Live Birth, though the validity of the document has been called into question. An official at the Hawaii State Department of Health, as well as Hawaii’s Republican Governor Linda Lingle, claims to have confirmed that Obama was born in Hawaii. While Globe magazine has a deserved reputation as a tabloid, like most tabloids, there is often an element of truth to the stories covered in the magazine. In fact, the Washington Post wrote an article defending tabloids in May 2009 called “Tabloid Trash — Or Treasure?” Post writer Tom Scocca wrote, “Without the National Enquirer, Elizabeth Edwards never would have sat down with Oprah Winfrey to discuss her husband’s infidelity and her new book about it.... The reputable media don’t traffic in that sort of tenuous speculation about people’s lives.... No one else does what it does, but in some situations, you need it.” In fact, that is the very reason Americans are flocking to the shelves to read Globe’s recent installment. In particular, blogsters all over the country are attracted to the cover story on Obama’s eligibility because they are aware that the mainstream media can no longer be trusted to inform the public. According to one blogster, “The tabloids have often uncovered more truth than even the syndicated columns and reputable news sources have been able to uncover. Right now that is very much needed because the press and most newspapers and magazines are being told to keep their mouth shut. Anyone, news reporter, blogger, or just curiosity seeker can’t go near the gulf or say anything about it.” (For further information on the latter comment, click here.) The birther controversy has been an ongoing debate and in fact, a hearing was set for June 11 to determine President Obama’s eligibility after Lt. Col. Lakin refused to report for military duty until Obama proved his legal citizenship. Since then, however, Lakin has waived his preliminary hearing, claiming that the United States Army made it “impossible for me to present a defense,” according to the press release issued after Lakin waived his rights to the hearing. According to the release: Lakin ... requested the testimony of Dr. Chiyome Fukino of the Hawaii Dept. of Health, and all of that agency’s records that exist concerning the president’s birth. Lakin had also requested the testimony of the custodians of records of, and the records relating to Obama’s admission and financial aid that exist, of the Punahou School, Occidental College, Columbia University and Harvard Law School. All these records were also summarily denied, leaving Lakin without any ability to mount a defense at the hearing. Lakin has released a five-minute video, where he outlines his argument that President Obama is “Constitututionally ineligible to serve as Commander-in-Chief”. If these claims are investigated and it is found that President Obama was indeed born outside of the United States, Obama stands to risk facing Impeachment hearings. Since President Obama’s campaign in 2008, a growing number of Americans have raised questions regarding Obama’s birthplace and whether he is indeed eligible to serve as President of the United States. Those citizens have been labeled “birthers” and have been assigned a reputation as looney conspiracy theorists by the mainstream media.

Dear First Lady Welcome home. |
|
|
For only the second time in my adult life, I am not ashamed of my country.
I want to thank the hard working American people for paying $242 thousand dollars for my vacation in Spain. My daughter Sasha, several long-time family friends, my personal staff and various guests had a wonderful time.
Air Force 2 only used 47,500 gallons of jet fuel for this trip and carbon emissions were a mere 1,031 tons of CO2. These are only rough estimates,
but they are close. That's quite a carbon footprint as my good friend Al Gore would say, so we must ask the American citizens to drive smaller, more
fuel efficient cars and drive less too, so we can lessen our combined carbon footprint.

In the aftermath of a hotly contested GOP primary in California, and looking to
accelerate momentum for their party's candidates nationally, about 800 activists,
donors, politicians and party leaders gathered in Irvine for the Orange County
Republican Party's annual Flag Day Dinner and heard Florida U.S. Senate candidate
Marco Rubio outline a philosophy in lockstep with the Reagan revolution.
Orange County is thought of by many as the most conservative county in the country.
Politicians and candidates visit from all across the nation to gather support and money.
The Flag Day Dinner is the pinnacle event for county Republicans. Previous keynote
speakers have included presidential hopefuls Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani. This
year's event featured a level of energy and enthusiasm that we haven't seen in a number
of years.
As is customary with an event honoring the Stars and Stripes, Boy Scouts presented the
colors to kick off the evening, and Huntington Beach Rep. Dana Rohrabacher offered the
invocation, which he sung while playing the guitar.
The theme of the evening was celebration over Republican electoral victories this year
and looking ahead to November. County party Chairman Scott Baugh recounted for the
audience the victories of many Republicans in attendance but drew particular attention
to Fullerton Councilman Shawn Nelson's election to the county Board of Supervisors.
Mr. Baugh, who has been battling the influence in local governments of public employee
unions, touted Mr. Nelson's victory as momentous because he overcame union attacks
and tons of union money spent against him.
Mr. Rubio was the keynote speaker, and, as a tea party favorite he was a natural fit for
the conservative crowd. The crux of his message was about protecting America's free-
enterprise system and drawing a distinction between President Barack Obama's agenda,
which Mr. Rubio characterized as an attempt to "fundamentally redefine the role of
government in our lives and the role of America in the world." He spoke about how the
midterm races this year are a referendum on expansionist, overreaching government and
attempts to thwart our free-market system.
He was welcomed with a standing ovation, in stark contrast to the last politician from
Florida to speak at the event, one of Marco Rubio's opponents for Senate, Florida Gov.
Charlie Crist, who was virtually booed off the stage in 2008 for out-of-touch remarks he
made praising Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Mr. Rubio, 39, a former Florida House speaker and the son of refugees from Fidel Castro's
Cuba, also talked about why he decided to run for the Senate. He claimed that he saw his
party and Mr. Crist, a former Republican and front-runner in the Senate race, moving further
to the left, trying to be more like the Democratic Party. "I decided to run," he said "because
our country already has one Democrat party – we don't need two." The comment was very well
received. He has become a figure synonymous with getting the Republican Party's principles
back on track.
If Mr. Rubio's espoused philosophy becomes the standard for Republican candidates and
elected officials, the GOP well could have much to celebrate in November. From Monday's
celebratory atmosphere at the Irvine Hyatt one could conclude a new Reagan revolution
is on the horizon.

An opening day guest holds his new copy of "Courage and Consequence," by guest speaker
Karl Rove, former Chief of Staff to former President George W. Bush, as the Republican Party
of Orange County christens its new Tustin headquarters.
Political strategist Karl Rove displayed wicked humor and scathing criticism as he helped the Republican Party of Orange County christen its new, high-tech headquarters Saturday morning.
“I don’t know of any country that’s spent itself to prosperity,” said Rove, attacking President
Barack Obama and Congressional Democrats’ stimulus and bailouts plans. “You’ve tried that
here in California – how’s that worked? We keep going like this, we’re going to look like Greece
on steroids.”
Several hundred activists and local officials gathered outside the Edinger Avenue office park headquarters to hear to Rove’s half-hour talk. The adviser and chief strategist to George W. Bush focused on undercutting Obama’s economic-recovery and health-care plans, and encouraged the audience to work hard in the upcoming elections.

To Karl's left front is a red draped table with the OCGOP video camera recording Rove's
talk. Rhonda Rohrabacher [blue & white striped sweater] is the OCGOP computer guru.
Behind her in red is Joyce Van Schaack and I, your webmaster, at her 5 o'clock. It was a
beautiful day, a great speech, and truly a Grand Opening. Hat tip to Scott Baugh and his staff.

To Scott Baugh's right is Steve Sarkis, Tustin Mayor Amante, and Larry Collins.
Behind Scott is Jon Fleischman, Vice Chairman South, of the California Republican Party.

Howard Fineman Wants to Know Where Health Care Money Goes
BEGIN TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: Anybody out there who knows Howard Fineman of Newsweek, Howard wrote a column today about how he was in the hospital down in Argentina and he's now learned what's wrong with American health care. He knows how to fix it. Somebody call Howard Fineman and have him tune in here at 12:33, a little bit less than a half hour from now and I'm going to explain it to him.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: Well, Howard Fineman just called said he can't listen at 12:33, he's headed up to Capitol Hill, but he'll catch the show later. We asked him, "Well, you want us to delay for when you have some free time?" He said, "No, no, no, no, you go ahead and do it at 12:33 and I'll catch it later." I don't miss your show at all." Which... That's stunning, busy as Howard Fineman is.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: Howard Fineman. This is what I wanted to say, and I really didn't have the guts to say it. When he told Kit that he "listens every day" I found it hard to believe, because none of it's sinking in. None of it's sinking in. If he listens every day, he has got one of the biggest immune systems that I have ever seen. I'm surprised he got sick down in Argentina. He got food poisoning down there. This guy is so immune to the truth -- as espoused by me, your host -- that I'm surprised he got sick.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: All right, Howard Fineman writing on Newsweek's website: "What the Debate Should Be About -- I got sick in South America, and I realized what the health-care debate in this country should be about: costs. After covering the health-care debate for a year, I suppose I needed to clear my head and get some perspective on the medical world. But the way I accidentally did so was a little extreme, dramatic, and painful. On a trip to visit our daughter in Argentina, I got a severe case of food poisoning, and spent two nights and three days in a small, private hospital in the breathtakingly beautiful (not that I cared!) Andes resort town of Bariloche.
"Before I say more, here's the bottom line: I got great care at a tiny fraction of what the cost would have been in the US -- even correcting for cost-of-living and currency values. My hospitalization included continuous intravenous fluids (to counter dehydration); IV antibiotics; an EKG, two blood tests and a chest X-ray; special meals; a private room; and even satellite-TV access to what seemed to be every obscure soccer match on the planet. The doctors, nurses, aides, and others were all uniformly excellent. Total cost: about $1,500. In the US, according to my survey of DC doctors (my own and others'), the equivalent care would have cost $10,000 to $15,000. That's probably not counting satellite TV. The stark arithmetic, in turn, reminds
me of what the debate here should be about but often isn't: how to control our immense and metastasizing medical-industrial complex,
which is waging the equivalent of a costly Cold War against an Evil Empire of bad food, bad habits, and greed. President Obama
proclaims his plan (whatever it finally is) to be 'reform.'" By the way, he's going to include four Republican ideas in his plan tomorrow.
I don't know what they are. I'll find out and tell you in a minute.

===> Rush Limbaugh's Letter to President Obama
| "I penned a message to Obama that I would like to deliver now. Because Mr. Obama, I think it’s time we had a heart to heart talk. Let me be the father that you never had or never really knew, because I think you need some guidance. It’s time to man up. It’s time to grow up. That speech last night was an embarrassment. You couldn’t focus, you lashed out in all directions, you refused to accept responsibility for your own actions, and you were angry. And he was, folks! He was mad. Being president is a big job. It’s a big responsibility. You wanted the position, Barack. You campaigned for it. You told the public to trust you with it, and they elected you — and you’re now president of the greatest country mankind has ever known, and yet you act like this was all coming to you, like you deserve it, that you’re better than the people you are supposed to serve and that you have no tolerance for debate or dissent. That’s not the way it works as president, Barack. We have a Constitution, we have checks and balances, we have separation of powers, we have states — and most of all, we have the people. You don’t get to impose your programs and policies on the nation and the people without our consent. This is a representative republic, not a banana republic, and let me remind you: Karl Marx and Saul Alinsky are not our Founding Fathers. This is a nation built on individuality, built on liberty, free markets, and faith. Yet you, Barack, demand fidelity to a different belief system: A system that crushes individual initiative and free will. The president does not berate Supreme Court justices who are guests of the Congress and who have no ability to respond to your attacks. You’ve made such a mess of things, Barack, and it’s time to stop deluding yourself. It’s time to stop blaming others. You are delusional. You are delirious. It’s time for you to assume the responsibilities of a president rather than pretending to be one. You’ve driven the nation’s debt over the edge. It is your responsibility to fix it now. Otherwise, our young people will have no future. You were wrong to grant terrorists constitutional rights. Even the libs in New York don’t want the trial there now! You, Mr. President, are endangering the security of this nation. Now fix it! Reverse course, and end the terrorists — all of them — back to Guantanamo Bay, where they belong. You are wrong to nationalize one industry after another from automobiles to banks. You are destroying competition and jobs. You need to stop what you were doing before million of more families go broke from your misguided policies. It’s not too late to stop this. I know you’re not going to stop it because last night you said you don’t quit, and I know what you mean. You’re gonna keep plugging for the same agenda, which is going to destroy this country even more — which makes me think, Barack, that’s your objective. You know, Barack, unlike most presidents you’re dealing with a Congress that has super majorities in both houses, fellow Democrats. It amazes me that with all the talk about your ability to persuade and communicate, that you can’t even hold your own party members together anymore. Is that Bush’s fault, too? Is it is fault of the banks and the insurance companies and the lobbyists that you can’t keep your own Democrat Party unified — or is it a problem with your leadership, Barack, or lack of leadership? It’s the latter, Mr. President. I’ll tell you, you are not a leader. You are an agitator and an organizer, and a process guy, but you are not a leader. It is you who are doing something wrong. The people in Virginia don’t like it. The people in New Jersey don’t like it. The people in Massachusetts don’t like it. The people in Massachusetts and all over the country have the ability to inform themselves outside of your sycophant press corps, and they are doing so. Members of your own governing majority don’t like what you are doing. I mean, this calls for some self-reflection and some circumspection. Has it occurred to you, Mr. President, even once that you’re not as cool as you think you are? Has it occurred to you that you are screwing up? And if it has, are you happy about that? Has it occurred to you that you have a great deal to learn and that you need to take your own measure, or are you Mr. Perfect? Are you God-sent? Are you The One that you’ve been waiting for? See, I have a little concern there may be a psychological issue at play here. I don’t say this to demean you, Barack. I say it because I’m concerned. I mean, Tom Daschle was always “concerned” and I like the word. I’m concerned. You seem to have a whole lot of enemies, at least in your own mind. A partial list would include Fox News, insurance companies, banks, oil companies, the “special interests,” the Supreme Court, Republicans, talk show hosts, executives, anyone or any business that earns over $250,000 a year, mortgage companies, credit card companies — and the list goes on and on and on. You have the longest enemies list of anybody I’ve ever known. These people are not your enemies, though, Barack. They are Americans. They are part of this country. They are part of what makes the nation work. You are not. You have nothing to do, and have had nothing to do, with this nation’s greatness. You can’t lay claim to greatness on any scale, not even rhetorical. But you have no direct relationship to the greatness of this country. You are damaging the possibility of further greatness. Nevertheless, like a bully, you continue to threaten all of these people. The Supreme Court, Big Oil, Big Pharmaceutical, Big Retail, talk show hosts, Fox News, the list goes on. You threaten anybody who does not agree with you. You try to intimidate them. You smear them. Your sycophantic media goes right along and carries your water. But this is not what presidents do. You’re supposed to lead not by threatening people but by encouraging them, by embracing them, by thanking them, by inspiring them. Most of all you don’t seem to appreciate the magnificence of this nation! I know you don’t. The way you’ve been educated about this country it’s painfully obvious. You think this country is guilty, period. Guilty and unjust. You seem to think this country needs to be torn down so you can rebuild it. But you were elected to be president, not some kind of dictator. You must operate within the confines of the Constitution. You are not bigger than the law, and you are not bigger than the people. You were elected to serve the people, not dictate to them. Anyway, I’m sure this little lecture will not do you much good, particularly given the spectacle of your speech last night. You really are full of yourself. But I truly hope that this little talk does do you some good down the way, because something is going to have to change in you or we are doomed for at least the next three years." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08rx3JmspnI |
